What happens when I upload a PDF?

Uploaded files are accessible only to you, unless you explicitly share them.

What happens when I upload a PDF?

When you upload a PDF to your scienceOS account, it is stored securely, encrypted automatically, and accessible only to you. If you create a project and add PDFs to it, you can choose to share access with colleagues and collaborators. Within the shared project, they will be able to read and interact with the PDFs but they will not be able to download them. Even if they add a source from the shared project to their personal library, it will only transfer the metadata (title, abstract, authors, etc) and provide read-only access to the PDF for as long as they are part of the project.
