Research draws on many kinds of material; papers, reports, manuscripts, and presentations together shape how we understand a topic. With support for PDF, Word, and PowerPoint files, more of this material can now enter your chats, library, and projects without format-related workarounds.
Alongside these documents, most researchers have also built reference collections over many years, and starting over is rarely an option. You can now bring your JabRef library into scienceOS, together with its stored documents, so your research can continue where you left off.
Yet, a complete collection is about more than the files you have downloaded. References to websites, manuscripts, and publications without attached documents are now also imported from Zotero, JabRef, and BibTeX, so your library reflects every source you have gathered.
Once your library is this complete, it can carry more demanding questions. Go deep in the chat bar lets the AI research agent choose the right in-depth approach for them, from deep research to citation checks, and free users can now try it on smaller questions.
Review the full release notes: Garfield Update.
This update of scienceOS is dedicated to Eugene Eli Garfield, who pioneered information science and transformed how scientific literature is documented and organized. He championed the idea that research becomes more valuable when knowledge and its sources are comprehensively collected and made accessible.
